And she’s sure that the perfect dinner is actually breakfast with her boys.

Growing up, writing was always Carrie's preferred outlet. As for brand stories? She's been crafting those since her agency days.

But 2016 opened her eyes to the possibilities of business ownership – a path that would allow her to go deeper into the work that resonates with her. Through nearly a decade of refining her craft within the constant rhythm of moving as a military spouse, she learned that creating connection is more than words – it's understanding what makes people feel truly at home.

This combination of experiences shaped her greatest strength: transforming the creative vision swirling in your mind into messaging that resonates deeply with those who need you.

What began as a small idea to slow down and have a more flexible career has grown into a mission to guide brands to show up as themselves with their words – free from the nervous energy of how they’ll be perceived or waiting for things to feel more “complete” (or perfect for the public).

Growing up, expressing creativity was celebrated – whether in the form of making music (the piano, in my case), the written word, cooking, or photography. 

For me, writing has always been my preferred outlet. So going from journalism school graduate to account coordinator (/stand-in copywriter & editor) at a KC ad agency obviously came as no surprise to those closest to me. 

Here’s where things get slightly spicy (like my beloved jalapeño marg). 

In 2016, my husband got deployment orders. And that’s when my “best” laid plans started unraveling. I could no longer dodge the unpredictable nature of being a military spouse. Moving every 2-3 years and enduring extended time apart doesn’t really mesh with a long-term career doing what you love.

I needed to pave my own path forward – one that would allow me to reclaim ownership over my journey. That’s when I made the conscious decision to put the corporate world behind me and open Woven Copy Studio.

When I’m not typing away in the studio, there’s a good chance you’ll find me trying to keep up with our toddler son’s energy (send an iced vanilla latte w/ coconut milk or aforementioned spicy marg, pretty please), crossing my fingers that my husband’s green thumb keeps my house plants alive, and catching up on the latest (most dramatic) Bravo TV episode.
